Cycling Waterways Stakeholders Meeting in Piedmont Region
European Conference on "Cycling Waterways" to Launch Sustainable Mobility Week
On September 16, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, the Sala Trasparenza in the Grattacielo della Regione Piemonte will host a key meeting for the stakeholders of Cycling Waterways Project in Piedmont.
This event will mark the start of European Sustainable Mobility Week, European Mobility Week.
The conference will be inaugurated by Marco Gabusi, the Regional Councillor for Transport and Infrastructure, who will present the project's objectives and future outlook. This event is organized in collaboration with the West Sesia Irrigation Association.
Councillor Gabusi remarked, “Our goal is to improve the livability and accessibility of our cities and regions by utilizing waterways for sustainable travel and showcasing the natural beauty of our area.” He highlighted the significance of European collaboration.
Stefano Bondesan, President of the West Sesia Irrigation Association, added, “Cycling Waterways also involves learning from our European counterparts to find effective solutions for multi-use paths along canals, ensuring their safety and maintenance. This initiative will promote slow tourism and European cycle tourism.”
The meeting will showcase the project’s objectives where participants will share experiences and best practices, addressing common challenges and promoting greener mobility solutions.
