Following a record-breaking conference in 2020, in which POLIS Network welcomed more than 900 participants, the Annual POLIS Conference takes place on December 1 and 2, 2021, in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The POLIS Conference provides an opportunity for cities and regions to showcase their transport achievements to a large audience of mobility experts, practitioners, and decision-makers. The Conference is organised in cooperation with the Urban Transport Administration of the City of Gothenburg, which currently holds the Presidency of POLIS.
This year, the e-smartec project participates in the conference in session 1E. Size Doesn't Matter: Boosting Innovation In Small And Medium-Sized Cities, which is organised on December 1, 2021, from 9.00 to 10.30, and session 2G. The science of the citizen, which is organised on December 1, 2021, from 14.30 to 16.00.
The sessions will be chaired, respectively, by Guido Rink, City of Emmen, and our very own Glykeria Myrovali, CERTH, and will feature presentations dedicated to our project, such as:
  • Mobility plans and concepts in Hesse: Results of a synopsis and recommendations for local planning in smaller and medium-sized cities | Stefanie Schwerdtfeger & Anna-Rebekka Warschau, CC-SUM - State of Hessen
  • A participation elite – A common phenomenon of participation processes within mobility planning? | Eugenia Kolb & Susanne Fischell, CC-SUM - State of Hessen

Registrations are now closed, but for those who have been following e-smartec and are participating in the POLIS Conference 2021 or plan to follow the hashtag #POLIS21, there will be surprises!
