On September 17th, AIMRD hosted the first meeting of the Local Stakeholder Group, a transnational (cross-border) group that brings together relevant tourism actors of Castille and Leon-North of Portugal Euroregion.

The meeting's main objectives were to present the Tourism4SDG project to the regional stakeholders and to invite them to actively participate in the project activities by sharing the lessons learned from Tourism4SDG to their territory.

High-value contributions were given by all the participants: Managing Authority of Interreg VI A Spain-Portugal cross-border cooperation programme, Siglo Foundation for Tourism and Arts and the General Directorate for Natural Heritage (both from the Regional Government of Castille and León), Diputación of Valladolid, the Laguna del Duero Municipality, Spanish Network for Sustainable Development (REDS), University of Valladolid and Santa Maria la Real Foundation.

A special mention should be made to the participation of the General Directorate for Budget, European Funds and Statistics of the Regional Government of Castille y León, the managing authority of the policy instrument addressed by AIMRD in the Tourism4SDG project.

At the end of the meeting, participants expressed their interest in the issues addressed by the project and their commitment to the activities previewed for the Local Stakeholder Group.
