17th Annual Conference of Competitiveness Launched by PMO
The Prime Minister’s Office Deputy State Secretariat Responsible for Economic Development Programmes organizes the 17th Annual International Conference of Competitiveness Operational Programmes. The DSS EDP launched a series of international conferences on competitiveness operational programmes more than a decade and a half ago, with the aim of bringing together policy-makers from the Central and Eastern European countries that joined the EU in 2004 to discuss the issues and questions affecting competitiveness programmes in their respective countries.
The conferences bring together national ministers, heads of managing authorities, officials, experts, intermediary organizations, European think tanks, and Directors-General and Deputy Directors-General from the European Commission to share their experiences on current issues, successes and difficulties of the Competitiveness Operational Programmes and to find answers to the challenges they face.
The 17th International Conference on Competitiveness Operational Programmes will take place from 23-24. November 2023, under the title "The role of Cohesion Policy in the sustainability and digital transition". The event will focus on carbon neutrality and the role of producer-consumers in the energy transition. It will focus on the development of conscious consumer habits, innovative solutions and the role and responsibility of small and medium-sized enterprises in this shift.
The presenters and panelists will discuss ways to preserve the quality of the natural and built environment. The conference will look at how the EU Member States are making the transition to economic, social and environmental sustainability, how the digital dividend supports this, and how to achieve catching-up in the digital transition.
The conference register platform will be open from October, and it will beneficial for several stakeholder groups within Accelerate GDT.
