As part of the 2024 Hungarian EU Presidency, the National Development Centre organized a major event dedicated to the European Year of Skills on September 25-26, 2024, in Budapest. The conference focused on the development of skills for both young people and adults, exploring current trends and challenges in skills training, lifelong learning, and workforce development.

Held at the Larus Restaurant and Event Centre in Budapest, the event featured a series of lectures, panel discussions, and roundtables with key stakeholders, including representatives from the European Commission, national ministries, managing authorities, and organizations involved in skills development. The aim was to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing between policymakers, academics, and industry leaders, in order to create a shared vision for enhancing skills across Europe.

The event provided an excellent platform for discussing the most pressing issues in skills development, such as digitalization, green transitions, and workforce adaptability. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about best practices and innovative approaches to addressing the skills gap across different sectors and regions.

The conference was a significant event under the Hungarian EU Presidency, offering a chance for professionals and policymakers to shape the future of skills development in Europe.
