The representatives of Kekava Municipality and municipal utility companies "Kekavas Nami" and Baldone Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company (BŪKS) discussed several topics, such as anticipated reorganization process involving the merger of four municipal utility companies in Kekava Municipality by 2027. During the meeting, "Ķekavas nami" informed about recently conducted customer satisfaction survey on service quality and information flow. The results are expected to be published at the beginning of the upcoming year. Additionally, "BŪKS" introduced its Water Management Development Strategy, which outlines network development plans, including calculations and economic justifications for expanding the network in the covered territory.

The parties also discussed potential educational and informational initiatives aimed at end-users and the broader community. These initiatives could include campaigns to promote connections to the centralized sewerage system and educational activities for schoolchildren on water saving and waste separation.

Project staff encouraged to identify and share best practice examples that could be beneficial for all project partners. For instance, innovations such as smart meters that reduce time and water loss, as well as initiatives for house savings in apartment buildings. Also, partners’ areas of interest in terms of good practices were also discussed.

This meeting, part of the AdCap4GoodGov project under the Interreg Europe Program 2021-2027, successfully fostered an environment of shared learning and collaboration to tackle challenges in municipality utility management.
