2nd Interregional Workshop and Study Visit in Jelgava,Latvia

The 2nd workshop and study visit, themed "Site visit in wind farm(s) in Latvia and workshop on effective biodiversity management and conservation systems in wind areas," was recently organized by the Zemgale Planning Region (ZPR) on February 20th and 21st, 2024, in Jelgava, Latvia.

During the workshop on February 20th, expert speakers provided insights into topics, including wind energy in Latvia, biodiversity concerns throughout wind farm development stages, wind power challenges, and impact on birds. Engaging roundtable discussions followed.

On February 21st, project partners and stakeholders visited the Laflora wind park. They received firsthand information about planning, development, and environmental management practices, as well as biodiversity protection measures, from the knowledgeable staff. Additionally, participants were informed about future development plans of the site.
