2nd Stakeholder Meeting in Zemgale Planning Region, Latvia
On 26/3/2024, the meeting commenced with a presentation by Elīna Šuleva, assistant project manager of the Zemgale Planning Region, who provided an update on the progress of the implementation of the "Biowind" project.
One of the speakers was Einārs Cilinskis, a senior expert from the Ministry of Economy, who delivered insights into the latest developments in the planning and development of wind farms in Latvia, including state projects. The expert discussed the "ELWIND" offshore wind farm, a collaborative effort between Latvia and Estonia. Situated approximately 20 km from the Baltic Sea coast, near Pāvilosta and Jūrkalne, this wind park is anticipated to enhance energy security, reduce electricity prices, and promote locally sourced green energy. Additionally, it is expected to stimulate competitiveness by fostering the growth of new industries in Latvia.
Overall, the stakeholder meeting served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
