First CHEERS4EU newsletter, join our EU circular road trip!
What is a Circular Hub exactly? We define it as a regional, formalised cooperation between the urban environment and industrial sites/activities nearby, in order to work towards more circularity in the region.
Last May we started off with our first study visit to the Province of Limburg and the Chemelot Circular Hub, getting to know better all our 7 project partners and their stakeholders, and looking for good practices to share. Hereby we had a look at the Chemelot Chemical site that has various projects running, to recycle plastic and to create less waste and use waste streams of other industries on site as input. Interested in more details about this study visit? keep reading this newsletter.
Further each of the 7 European regions have been organising a regional stakeholder meeting with their stakeholders in order to discuss and analyse the regional situation of their Circular Hub and share lessons learned from the study visit.
Since all European regions are different, so are the Hub’s. We hope to get a clearer picture about each Hub during this 4 year ‘European Road trip’.
