The Region of Veneto hosted a Mid-Term Communication Event for CHERRY, which was held in Venice at the Palazzo Grandi Stazioni, Fondamenta Santa Lucia, on September 9, 2024.

The event was part of the initiative “New Policies for the Cultural Regeneration of Places,” promoted by Lo Stato dei Luoghi, and aimed to discuss the role of Innovation and Cultural Centers (ICCs) in urban transformation processes.

Event Highlights:

Opening and Introduction:

Roberta Franceschinelli, President of "Lo Stato dei Luoghi," opened the event with a brief introduction.

Institutional Greetings:

Cristiano Corazzari, Regional Minister for Culture of the Veneto Region.

Francesca Scatto and Elena Ostanel, President and Vice President of the Culture Commission of the Veneto Regional Council.

Discussion on Cultural Policies and Urban Regeneration in Veneto:

Fausta Bressani, Director of the Veneto Region Culture Department.

Santo Romano, Director of the Economic Policies, Human Capital, and Community Programming Area.

Presentation on Cultural-Based Urban Transformation in Europe: The CHERRY Project:

Tognon Mara, Senior Officer of the Veneto Region Culture Department, highlighted the role of cultural transformation in European urban development.

Hybridization: Recommendations for New Policies:

Roberta Franceschinelli provided recommendations for policy improvements through hybridization, focusing on integrating cultural and social aspects into urban spaces.

Presentation of "Corale":

Naomi Pedri Stocco, General Secretary of “Lo Stato dei Luoghi,” introduced Corale, a network in Veneto focused on hybrid social and cultural spaces.

Open Discussion:

The event concluded with an open forum where participants, including administrators, citizens, and representatives of various spaces, exchanged ideas and discussed the topics presented throughout the day.
