Fifth Peer Review Visit
Last week, our project partners gathered in Potenza (Italy) for the 5th Peer Review Visit, which focused on Citizen Involvement in Decision-Making and Planning.
The event was opened by the masterclass featuring the presentation of several good practices, including the Virtual Reality IT Platform, an innovative and technological tool for citizen engagement in biodiversity governance that offers not only the opportunity to explore and appreciate the ecosystems of the Province of Potenza but also to immerse oneself in them through a headset
This engaging experience is aimed at increasing the interest of young people, adopting a modern and cutting-edge approach to bring them closer to nature and its preservation.
The session was followed by a live experience on its use at the Resilience HUB.

The afternoon continued with a stakeholder workshop using the World Café method, followed by a final sharing session that concluded the first day.

The study visits took place in Monticchio and Rionero in Vulture.
Here, the project partners had the opportunity to learn more about invasive alien species, the issues they cause, and how they are captured to preserve the area's biodiversity.
The visit continued with a walk to the Benedictine Abbey of Saint Michael, which houses the Natural History Museum of Vulture. It chronicles the 750,000-year history of the Vulture, a volcano that has been dormant for about 130,000 years.
Here, visitors can learn more about the journey of man and how different animal and plant species have inhabited the slopes of the Vulture throughout various ages.
Monticchio Gaudianello S.p.A. (an Italian mineral water company) and the 'Bando Borghi' regeneration plan for the Monticchio area concluded the day of study visits.

The third day was dedicated to the masterclass and study visit evaluation, the discussion about the policy improvement activities, and the communication ones.
The final report will be soon available in our project library!
Stay tuned for more!
