Little and unknown floral masterpieces
A didactic and emotional exhibition by Miko Somma in Potenza (Italy).
A floral exhibition promoted as part of CIBioGo
“While I was walking with my dogs, some flowers that I have never looked at closely got my attention, so I started studying and taking photos of them, because I realized that I wanted to build something that could be left and given to others, especially to children” says Miko Somma.
Till the 30th of April at the provincial art gallery of the Province of Potenza will be hold a didactic and emotional floral exhibition promoted as part of the CIBioGo project, whose objective is to stimulate love for the environment and to raise awareness of its local flora with its beautiful flowers, which despite their little size are the easiest to see and to love.
This exhibition is mainly targeted to children because they are bound to become the authors of the change, but it’s also open to everyone since it might become an opportunity to set up discussions on climate change issues related.
Till the end of April one hundred and forty photos of flowers and inflorescences will be kept exposed; all products of Miko Somma’s production, who came up with this idea during the lockdown period.
“It's an opportunity both for children and adults to get in touch with climate change issues related and with the necessity of preserving nature, even the smallest, uncultivated and neglected corner of the city” says Miko Somma.
So the idea is to make nature flourish everywhere it is possible, even in the smallest corners of the cities, as well as in their sidewalks and parks to make nature live and survive.
The wide naturalistic heritage showed in the exhibition will serve as a basis for specific information and education programs and activities to be performed with the engagement of primary schools as a means to foster citizen participation in relevant decision makings regarding the local biodiversity protection and valorization.
