Little and unknown floral masterpieces
A floral exhibition promoted as part of CIBioGo
“While I was walking with my dogs, some flowers that I have never looked at closely got my attention, so I started studying and taking photos of them, because I realized that I wanted to build something that could be left and given to others, especially to children” says Miko Somma.
Until the 30th of April, a didactic and emotional floral exhibition will be held at the provincial art gallery of the Province of Potenza.
This exhibition is promoted as part of CIBioGo, with the objective of stimulating love for the environment and raising awareness on the local flora with its beautiful flowers.
This exhibition is mainly targeted at children, who are bound to become the authors of the change. However, it is also open to other categories of people, as it might provide an opportunity to initiate discussions on climate change issues related.
Until the end of April one hundred and forty photos of flowers and inflorescences will be kept exposed; all products of Miko Somma’s production, who came up with this idea during the lockdown period.
“It's an opportunity both for children and adults to get in touch with climate change issues related and with the necessity of preserving nature, even the smallest, uncultivated and neglected corner of the city” says Miko Somma.
The idea is to make nature flourish everywhere it's possible, even in the smallest corners of the cities, as well as on the sidewalks and parks, so as to make nature live and survive.
The wide naturalistic heritage shown at the exhibition will serve as a basis for specific information and education programs and activities to be carried out with the involvement of primary schools. This will help foster citizen participation in relevant decision-making processes concerning the protection and enhancement of local biodiversity.
