The CODIL Project recently concluded its third inter-regional thematic seminar on "Incentives and Innovation Services to Attract and Retain Talent," held on June 12-13, 2024, in Timișoara, Romania. This event brought together project partners and stakeholders to address the evolving innovation landscape influenced by distributed-team models and mobile knowledge workers.

Some key outcomes of the seminar:

  1. Addressing Remote Work Challenges: Discussions focused on worker migration, talent loss, brain drain, and ecosystem fragmentation. Strategies were shared to mitigate these challenges and enhance regional innovation.
  2. Talent Retention Solutions: We explored critical areas in education, company practices, and human resources to identify effective solutions for retaining talent. Concrete incentives and instruments were proposed to make regions more attractive to skilled professionals.
  3. Policy Recommendations: The need for adapting and renewing policies to attract and retain talent was empashized. This includes reviewing and updating current practices to better align with the evolving demands of the innovation landscape.
  4. Collaborative Insights: The event facilitated knowledge exchange and collaboration among partners and stakeholders, strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem.

Following the seminar, a second round of Staff Exchanges took place, featuring in-depth knowledge activities and visits to West Region ecosystem stakeholders. This allowed for practical insights and the application of discussed strategies in real-world settings.

Hosted by the West Regional Development Agency of Romania, this seminar was part of CODIL's broader effort to empower regional innovation through effective policy instruments and digital technologies.

Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to foster collaboration and drive innovation across regions.
