Interregional workshop in Pazardzhik
Rural areas often find themselves overlooked when policies are designed with urban centers in mind. Coop4RURALGov, an initiative involving partners from Spain, Bulgaria, Estonia, and Ireland, seeks to address this issue by promoting rural-proofing mechanisms. These tools aim to ensure that the specific needs of rural, coastal, and mountainous regions are considered in policy-making processes.
The Workshop in Pazardzhik
On January 28-29, 2025, Pazardzhik, Bulgaria, will host the second thematic workshop of the Coop4RURALGov project. This meeting will build upon findings from the Olite workshop held in 2024 and take steps toward developing a Rural Proofing Toolbox—a set of methodologies and tools to better integrate rural considerations into governance.
The workshop will:
-
Explore the phases of an effective rural proofing mechanism.
-
Discuss practical methods and tools for applying rural proofing in policy-making.
