3rd Regional Stakeholder Meeting - Świętokrzyskie Region
The Polish partner of the CORE project, Świętokrzyskie Region, hosted the 3rd regional stakeholder meeting on August 30, 2024, at the headquarters of the Waste Management Company in Promnik. The meeting provided a platform to discuss the project’s progress and explore rural bio-waste management solutions for the region. It included a visit to the company and learning about its specifics, accompanied by Chairman of the Board, Mr. Mirosław Banach.
During the meeting, information on the CORE project’s implementation and shared knowledge gained from the III Thematic Seminar in Mechelen, Belgium was presented. We highlighted good practices introduced by project partners from Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Hungary, and Spain. For example, Belgium’s "masters of composting," a volunteer initiative promoting backyard composting since 1994, and Germany's Aktion Biotonne, an educational campaign aimed at improving the quality of bio-waste collection in Brandenburg, both delivered impressive and measurable results.
The meeting was attended by 11 stakeholders from the Świętokrzyskie region, including representatives from 6 regional municipal waste management facilities, representatives of government administration, i.e. the Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection, representatives of municipalities and entrepreneurs. There were 30 participants in total.
The project is coordinated by the Department of Regional Development, with support from the Department of Agriculture, Climate, and Environment.
