On World Environment Day on June 5, the "Network for a sustainable Söderhamn" arranged a meeting to discuss sustainability. The network includes several actors who work with sustainability: the municipality, various associations, rural associations, the church and a housing and work cooperative.
The day focused on three topics that were presented and discussed: the municipality's activities, communities, and cultivation.
After each presentation of each topic, there was an opportunity for discussion around the tables. Among other things, an example from a neighboring municipality, that was about personal trainers in cultivation was presented. At one of the tables, there were representatives of the CORE project and examples from the latest study visits in Flanders were shown. The possibility and demand for small-scale local disposal of garden waste was discussed. Also, the possibilities for small-scale circular cultivation, both for educational purposes and for social values. Great interest was shown in the CORE-project and how it works in other countries.
