Veszprém Families Embrace Composting
On May 25, 2024, families from Veszprém gathered at the Monasteries and Gardens venue for an engaging event focused on sustainability. Organized by KDRIÜ Nonprofit Ltd., the University of Pannonia, and Veszprém Public Utility Services Ltd., the event featured 14 interactive stations where participants learned about waste reduction, waste management, and innovative waste recovery methods.
The Hungarian stakeholders of the CORE project, in their February 2024 meeting, decided to emphasize composting at this event. Attendees explored composting through puzzles, skill games, and discussions, gaining a deeper understanding of its importance. Nearly 30 families received brochures to reinforce the lessons learned.
The event also provided an opportunity for Veszprém residents to learn about the installation of community composting bins, landfill regulations, and the future use of the compost produced. The news of these community initiatives was met with enthusiasm by the visitors.
