CROWDFUNDMATCH START: HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY JOIN ESIF FUNDS AND CROWDFUNDING?
CROWDFUNDMATCH project builds on DG Regio's recognition of crowdfunding as innovative digital tool, which can be well combined with ESIF funds, to support regional development. Cohesion policy needs to become more inventive and flexible, to be able to react to constantly changing market conditions. Crowdfunding can support required transformation of existing Cohesion policy.
Benefits of joining ESIF funds with crowdfunding are not just more efficient spending of public funds, but also greater citizens engagement, end-user verification of products/services and improved digitalisation of public and private sector.
To start discussing mentioned fund-matching opportunities and bottlenecks, for enhancing regional policies, project partners met at the kick-off meeting in Ptuj, Slovenia, on 23rd of May 2023. Besides explaining the main project goals and project roadmap, each partner presented their role in regional policy, competences and experience related to EU policies. Initial discussion was established about level of development of crowdfunding markets in partner countries and how synergies between alternative financing tools and regional policy tools could be utilize.
