Rimini Presents at Interreg Policy Learning Webinar
On October 24, 2024, the Province of Rimini presented an exemplary initiative from Montecopio at the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform webinar titled: “Blue-green infrastructure for resilient cities II: Greening the urban landscape”.
This project has been recognized as one of the most outstanding among ongoing initiatives focused on biodiversity and green spaces, making it a valuable model to share with a broad audience. The event attracted over 150 participants from across Europe, who joined online to learn about and discuss sustainability and land stewardship initiatives. Enrico Anghileri, project manager for the Province of Rimini on the GIFT project, presented the project alongside Montecopiolo’s deputy mayor, Giancarlo Ghiselli. Together, they highlighted the significant work on enhancing the local park, a project that has led to notable gains in biodiversity and a marked increase in the bee population in the area.
During their presentation, the speakers provided insights into how the project has not only enriched the local environment but has also created a replicable model for other communities seeking to foster sustainability and urban ecosystem protection.
Following the presentation, Anghileri and Ghiselli answered numerous questions from attendees, underscoring the strong interest generated by the initiative and a shared commitment to international collaboration in promoting ecologically beneficial practices.
The Province of Rimini remains dedicated to supporting projects that improve quality of life while fostering awareness and concrete actions for a sustainable future.
