First Meeting of Spanish Stakeholders’ Group - GRANDIS
On September 25, 2024, the first thematic workshop was held with Spanish stakeholders for the presentation of the GRANDIS Project at the Xtela Tower.
The Directorate General of Innovation of the Government of Cantabria and the Regional Development Agency Cantabria (SODERCAN) organised the workshop aimed at introducing the project and fostering collaboration among regional stakeholders.
Representatives from the Association of Business Women of Cantabria (ADMEC), territorial development associations (Campoo Los Valles and Saja Nansa), the Cantabria Chamber of Commerce, CISE (Santander International Entrepreneurship Center), the Cantabria Sustainability Cluster, the Tera Cluster, and various local action groups participated. Public institutions such as the Directorate General of Social Inclusion, Families and Equality, the Cantabrian Employment Service, and the University of Cantabria’s Hydraulics Institute were also present, along with private sector players like Maderas García Varona.
The workshop, led by entrepreneurship and innovation expert Rafael Ruiz Bada, centred on the role of women in business creation, the obstacles they encounter, and the challenges posed by new technologies and the green transition. Attendees were divided into groups to share experiences and discuss solutions.
This workshop marks the beginning of a series of collaborative efforts aimed at improving institutional learning and developing new policies to support regional development. It highlights the importance of cross-sector engagement in shaping the future of entrepreneurship and sustainability in Cantabria.
