Promoting sustainable practices within South Moravia
A workshop on the Climate Action Plan for the South Moravian Region
On May 17th, JINAG, based in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic, hosted a workshop in Brno to advance the development of a Climate Action Plan (CAP) for the region. The event brought together about 30 key stakeholders and experts in environmental and climate strategy, promoting active collaboration on regional climate resilience.
During the session, JINAG updated the GreenGov project and explored synergies with organisations focused on DNSH (Do No Significant Harm) principles and green financing, both central to South Moravia’s climate goals.
The Head of the Regional Development Department from the South Moravian Region Region Office also contributed to an initial survey on the "State of Green Finances in Regions," offering insights into the current situation in South Moravia. The results will be presented at the second consortium meeting in Craiova, Romania, in November 2024.
Over the four-year project, JINAG will regularly meet with all stakeholders to contribute insights, share best practices, and discuss project partners' experiences.
The URBIS Conference
Furthermore, between June 4th to 6th, the URBIS conference was also held in Brno as a vital platform for JINAG to showcase its initiatives.
At the JINAG exhibition booth, visitors engaged in interactive discussions about the agency’s projects, focusing also on the GreenGov project. Presentations emphasised GreenGov’s role in promoting sustainable practices within South Moravian municipalities, attracting around 450 visitors from municipal and ministerial backgrounds.
This conference allowed local and international representatives to explore ways to integrate DNSH and green finance principles into future regional investments or consider these measures while maintaining and managing their existing projects.
