The second meeting of the HYPERION project took place on 5 and 6 November at the Office of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship, in Gdańsk, Poland.

The event began with official greetings from Stanislaw Szultka - Director of the Economic Development Department of the Pomorskie Voivodeship Marshal's Office. This was followed by the speech of Lorenzo Sabatini (ASEV - project coordinator) who gave a summary overview of what has been done in the first six months of the project and what is expected from the partnership in the second half of the year.

The morning proceeded with an online talk by Filip Marcinkowski, legal advisor to the Energy Regulatory Office - Department of Legal Issues and Dispute Settlement (URE), who gave his overview of the legal aspects of hydrogen management in Poland.

Afterwards, the partnership discussed the first in-depth topic of the first day: Hydrogen Valleys and their ecosystems. In this session, after an introduction to the topic by the HER Advisory Partner, speakers included:

Based on the preparatory work carried out, partners continued sharing their experiences on the key aspects that define Hydrogen Valleys before moving on to the conclusions of the HER Advisory Partner.

The second in-depth focus was on the financing of hydrogen. The first talk was given by Łukasz Kałużny - legal and tax consultant at JK Kanceleria & Hydrogendesk - with a speech on building hydrogen ecosystems and the problems arising from the issue of financing. This was followed by a second talk by the Polish ARP TFI with an in-depth discussion on how to finance hydrogen investments.

As a result of these interventions, further involvement of the partners led by the HER Advisory Partner in a second round-table discussion was organised. Once again, information gathering was requested prior to the meeting on how, within their own regional context, the hydrogen sector is or should be financed.

On the second day, the steering group meeting took place with presentations on reporting and communication in relation to the completed and current semester. Following this, an interactive section on the topic of good practices, their relevance and role within the project was organised for the partners.

Finally, as the last point on the agenda, the participants moved to the Port Authority of Gdansk for a study tour in which the current and future activities being implemented in the field of hydrogen were presented.

Below is a video summary of the working days in Gdansk from the partnership.
