The first meeting of the HYPERION project was held
The Kick-off meeting of the HYPERION project funded by the Interreg Europe program was held in Florence on June 18 and 19, 2024.
On the first day, after finally meeting in person, the project began by taking stock of the European and Tuscan (host of the meeting) context and the related hydrogen ecosystem. Next, it was the turn of the partners to present their regional policy context and to the improvements and opportunities arising from participation in the Interreg Europe program. Following this, the partnership took part in a session divided into two working groups in which each participant presented their expertise intending to identify the common points and their regional differences on the topic.
During the afternoon, the partnership was hosted at the headquarters of Baker Hughes, located in Florence. During the visit, detailed information was provided on the history and activities carried out by the multinational company concerning the role of hydrogen.
In the second half of the visit, the partners were allowed to participate in a very interesting guided tour of Baker Hughes' production facilities. After the working day, the partners took part in a social dinner.
The following day, as per the agenda, the meeting again saw the partnership divided into two working groups within which they discussed their areas of interest. At the end of the session, the two groups reconvened in a general session to share their findings. During the second day, each partner also presented its regional strengths and weaknesses on the project themes. Eventually, the last part of the meeting was focused on financial, administrative, and project communication aspects.
