Romania is one of the countries (less than thirty) that traditionally produces hydrogen that it is used for the production of ammonia (agro-chemistry industry), secondary product from chloro-sodium plants, in large quantities in refineries, glass industry, metallurgy etc.
The theme of the event was “Hydrogen - vector for energy” and following the general presentation of the project, the researchers and specialists in the field discussed the benefits of using H2, the technologies for production H2, the 3 pillars of hydrogen infrastructure (production; distribution, transport, storage; use), the characteristics of the ‘hydrogen valleys’.
Project ideas were also proposed for the use of hydrogen in public passenger transport, but also for waterborne (river and sea) transport, for use in industry or in the residential sector.
