A Podcast to Discover Jewish Ferrara

On Monday, April 7, 2025, the new podcast “Scopri la Ferrara ebraica - Discover Jewish Ferrara” was officially presented to the public at Ferrara’s City Hall. The podcast is the main output of the 2024 Local Tourism Promotion Programme (PTPL) titled “Feel the History – Ferrara Capitale del Rinascimento: percorsi slow, esperienziali e di turismo familiare sul tema della cultura ebraica.”

Curated by the Municipality of Ferrara and InFerrara Consortium, the podcast was developed in collaboration with the Jewish Community of Ferrara, the National Museum of Italian Judaism and the Shoah (MEIS), and the Institute of Contemporary History—key stakeholders also involved in the Jewels Tour project.

The series consists of ten episodes, each dedicated to a specific walking route through the city. Guided by a narrative voice, listeners are geographically placed at key locations while learning about their historical and cultural significance.

The project aims to inspire the many tourists who visit Ferrara each year to explore the city’s deep-rooted Jewish heritage. By using an engaging digital storytelling format with a tourist-friendly approach, the initiative seeks to reach even the most elusive audience segments.
