Place-based approach to Smart Specialisation

Stakeholders from Ireland’s Northern and Western region recently kick-started local activities to foster the transition from traditional sectors towards smart specialisation (S3), building on the strong place-based approach across the region.

This Interreg Europe initiative will learn from good practices across Europe through the LOTTI project, funded by the EU. Regular meetings, learning events and thematic workshops aim to foster regional policy improvement with a focus on stakeholder participation and citizen engagement as key parts of the process.
