Stakeholder Meeting: WestBIC & NWRA Policy Partnership
The recent stakeholder meeting provided an important update on the LOTTI project and its key objectives, with a particular focus on the lessons learned from the Smart Industrial Parks (SIP) model in France. The meeting aimed to present the Claremorris Technology Park proposal to Enterprise Ireland, exploring its potential in the context of the LOTTI project.
The discussion centered around the alignment of the Claremorris Technology Park with national and regional development strategies, as well as its possible funding model. Stakeholders also discussed how the project could benefit from EU, national, and regional policies. The meeting provided an opportunity to gather feedback on the preliminary business case, which had been shared with attendees ahead of time.
James Donlon, a key speaker, presented an overview of the LOTTI (Local Transition Towards Industrial Innovation) Interreg Project. LOTTI’s primary focus is on fostering industrial transition in rural regions, particularly those that have lost traditional jobs. Its goals include transitioning these regions toward smart industries, developing Smart Industrial Parks that prioritize sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation, and facilitating strong public-private partnerships to foster enterprise growth.
The event also provided valuable insights into the linkages between the Claremorris Technology Park and Smart Regions, helping to pave the way for future collaboration and development in the region.
