On Thursday, February 22nd, experts, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from across Italy convened at the Yunus Italia Foundation headquarters in Bologna to delve into the transformative power of social business in shaping a sustainable future. Hosted in the heart of Via d'Azeglio 48, this event, organized by the Yunus Foundation, served as a dynamic platform for thought-provoking discussions and collaborative endeavors.

The gathering brought together luminaries such as Paola Samoggia, representing the Yunus Social Business Center of the University of Florence, along with representatives from other Yunus Social Business Centers (YSBCs) across Italy. Notably, the event featured a virtual appearance by Professor Muhammad Yunus, connecting from Bangladesh, whose visionary insights enriched the dialogue on the challenges and opportunities of social entrepreneurship.

The central theme of the event revolved around the Microfuture project, an initiative under the Interreg Europe framework, aimed at fostering sustainable development and social innovation. Professor Torluccio eloquently presented the Microfuture project, highlighting its significance in addressing pressing societal issues and catalyzing positive change.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in lively discussions on various topics, including the diverse microcredit initiatives implemented across Italy, strategies for stakeholder engagement within YSBCs, and the pivotal role of auxiliary services in facilitating access to and repayment of microcredit. The exchange of ideas and sharing of best practices laid the groundwork for fostering a robust network of collaborations, essential for forging a more inclusive and sustainable future.

By harnessing the collective expertise and passion of individuals from diverse backgrounds, the event underscored the transformative potential of social business in realizing a world free from poverty, unemployment, and pollution. As we continue to navigate the complexities of our time, initiatives like the Microfuture project serve as beacons of hope, driving meaningful change and inspiring collective action towards a brighter tomorrow.

Through collaborative efforts and unwavering dedication, the Yunus Foundation and its partners reaffirm their commitment to advancing social entrepreneurship and creating positive impact in communities across Italy and beyond.
