1st Stakeholder Meeting in the Region of Central Macedonia

The 1st Meeting of the Regional Support Group/Regional Stakeholders' Group (RSG) of the MILEstone (Migrants' Integration in Local Economies) project, which is co-financed by the INTERREG EUROPE Program 2021-2027, took place online on Monday, September 25, 2023.

The meeting was organized by the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia (project partner), in cooperation with the Region of Central Macedonia (collaborating Policy-Making Authority).

At the beginning of the meeting there was a short presentation of the project and the members of the Regional Support Group. Afterwards, the way in which each interested institution-member of the Regional Support Group could contribute to the actions of the project was investigated. There was also a first exchange of experiences and good practices that emerged in the past. The meeting concluded with a presentation of strengths and weaknesses, challenges, opportunities and the current situation regarding the integration of third country nationals into the labor market in the Central Macedonia Region and a discussion among the participants.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Observatory of Refugees and Migrants of the Region of Central Macedonia, the Managing Authority of the Region Operational Program of "Central Macedonia", the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the International Organization for Migration of Thessaloniki, the Christian Brotherhood of Thessaloniki Youth (YMCA), the University of Macedonia, the Technical Chamber of Greece (Central Macedonia section) and the company ETAM S.A. (external expert).
