NACAO in European Week of Regions and Cities
Two sessions in European Week of Regions which are linked to NACAO project are
- Mediterranean regions: Cooperating for climate resilience
- Sustainable development strategies – Drivers for coherence and competitiveness of regional policies.
Mediterranean regions session links to confirmed fact that southern European regions face stronger climatic pressures than the rest of Europe. This asymmetrical exposure will exacerbate the already existing disparities between regions in terms of needs for climate adaptation, risk prevention and preparedness, with an inevitable impact on EU climate and cohesion policy. This partnership will contribute to this challenge ahead of the incoming EU institutions and post 2027.
Sustainable development strategies session is a workshop and it deals with sustainable development strategies focusing on developing cross-departmental collaboration on one shared objective: creating a sustainable future for our regions. This workshop is an opportunity to share experiences in developing, implementing and monitoring strategies, and to investigate the different approaches. This discussion will include a range of topics, such as innovative participatory pathways and localising the UN Agenda 2030 SDGs.
