Third stakeholder meeting took place in Andalusia in December 2023. The Andalusian Climate Change Office held this meeting with the Environment and Water Public Agency (AMAYA), a key stakeholder in the NACAO project. The aim of this stakeholder meeting was to transfer knowledge of some selected good practices shared by other partners in the framework of the project, which could be considered useful for the development of the different activities related to climate change that the Agency is carrying out.

According to the agenda, the participants went back over the list of best practices presented by the partners in the First Thematic Seminar held in Seville in June in order to review and comment on some of them in detail, focus on establishing parallelisms and identifying useful measures that could improve some of the issues that the Environment and Water Public Agency and the Andalusian Office are working on.

The development of a methodology capable of valuing other “benefits” that offsetting projects could provide, in particular their ecological value, was at the centre of the discussion. The sustainable forest management linked to water quality and availability was also part of the debate, as it is the subject of another European project which is focused on drought and adaptation and is carried out by Environment and Water Public Agency and the Andalusian Office.

At the end of the meeting the Andalusian Office shared with the participants some news about the anticipated Second Interregional Thematic Seminar which will take place in Finland at the end of February 2024. Looking forward to attend!
