Visibility for the project in German
A poster of NACAO has been displayed and the visibility of the project promoted in Ministry for Environment, Climate and Science of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen is the smallest of the 16 states in the Federal Republic of Germany and one of the oldest still existing city-states. The state consists of two cities, Bremen and Bremerhaven. The Weser estuary, its river tributaries and marshes characterise the local landscape. Bremen is the state of Germany with the highest share of grassland in its agriculture. The grassland is characterised by being interspersed with ditches to manage the water level, originally created to drain the pastures, some of which are on peat soils.
As a town state, a large potential in Bremen for nature-based carbon offsetting lies in urban green infrastructure and the unsealing of soils. The Ministry for Environment, Climate and Science of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (partner in NACAO) is responsible for a wide range of task relating to sustainability, including, among others, nature conservation, urban green spaces, soil, water and flood protection, agriculture, climate adaptation, the transition energy transition and environmental innovation
