NEBA Explores New European Bauhaus in Panevėžys!
NEBA, an international initiative dedicated to integrating the principles of the New European Bauhaus into the local policies of European cities and regions, is now practically launched with the first on-site visit to Panevėžys, Lithuania.
NEB is an EU-led initiative that combines design, sustainability, accessibility, affordability, and the goals of the European Green Deal to drive environmental, economic, and cultural advancements. By collaborating with our European colleagues, we aim to share best practices and bring the principles of NEB into our daily lives.
NEBA is proud to partner with the city of Panevėžys in Lithuania, where our partners possess extensive practical knowledge of NEB and have implemented real-life examples of its application. Recently, the NEBA team visited Panevėžys to explore the Pragiedruliai Creativity Centre, the Stasys Museum, and the city's transformative parks, all embody the New European Bauhaus spirit.
Vice Mayor of Panevėžys, Loreta Masiliūnienė, expressed her enthusiasm: "Panevėžys is embarking on yet another important project for the city, taking significant steps towards a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing environment. The challenges of climate change urge us to act responsibly, finding and implementing environmentally friendly solutions. I am delighted to see a strong, imaginative team coming together to build a better and greener future for our cities. I believe this meeting marks the beginning of productive discussions, new ideas, and the creation of a sustainable future."
NEBA partners will connect regions with diverse experiences applying NEB principles, fostering interregional cooperation and sharing best practices. This collaboration will empower regions to rethink and enhance their territorial planning processes, ensuring new initiatives are enriching, sustainable, and inclusive.
