The agenda of the 3-day event included on the first day several presentations of regional policies addressing the topic of social innovation in the agri-food sector and in the rural areas. The presentations section was followed by a discussion panel, triggered by presentations of some examples of local projects and policies related to social innovation in the rural areas and in the agri-food sector. Around 70 participants, representing stakeholders from Centru Region, Romania, but also the European partners of the ORIGINN project attended this part of the event. After this visit, the project partners headed to the village of Hosman to visit another project with a double objective - social and economic - through which the old village mill was transformed into a meeting space for the local community and a distribution network for the producers' products were set up.
On the last day of the meeting, the ORIGINN project partners gathered at the Sibiu City Hall and presented some successful models of social innovation in the agri-food sector in their home regions. The ORIGINN event in the Centru Region ended with a study visit to the picturesque village of Rasinari near Sibiu, where the project partners had a meeting with the Mayor and with the Association of Agritouristic Guest Houses, local producers and stakeholders involved in the process of sustainable development of the community.
The ORIGINN meeting held in Centru Region brought together both the seven project partners and a significant number of representatives of rural communities and farmers from Centru Region, facilitating an intense exchange of knowledge and shared experiences at inter-regional level and contributing to better mutual learning exercise.
