The outputs of the SWOT analysis created by SIEA in the framework of the REC4EU project were mentioned in the article titled Only a fifth of Slovaks know that they can establish an energy community on the Euractiv.sk portal.

The Greenpeace survey highlights a significant gap in awareness among Slovaks about the concept of energy communities, with up to 73% unaware of this option. However, there's a notable interest in renewable energy sources (RES), as over 58% of respondents believe energy production should focus on RES. This aligns with insights shared by a REC4EU project team member during the 2nd stakeholder meeting in Bratislava, who emphasized that Slovaks are increasingly open to adopting renewable energy.

They also suggested that energy communities could be an effective tool for addressing energy poverty in the country.
This data suggests both a challenge and an opportunity: increasing awareness about energy communities could harness the existing support for renewables and help drive sustainable, community-led energy solutions in Slovakia.
