Renewat 3rd online plenary meeting

On 16 January 2025 our project partners gathered for this year’s first online Plenary Meeting, to discuss ongoing efforts and future actions in the project’s mission to renovate watermills across different regions. Key discussions included:
Benchmarking Process for Watermill Renovation: the discussion focused on developing a benchmarking process to standardise data and improve inter-regional learning. Partners collaborated on an online whiteboard to refine cultural, water, and energy criteria for comparison. Key discussions included:
- The definition of cultural heritage and what it includes.
- The impact of heritage protection on watermill renovation.
- A session on water body management criteria The role of hydro-morphological changes in water body management and electricity production.
- Energy, including challenges in regional data collection and different scales.
Energy Communities and Pilot Actions: updates were shared from the Energy Communities workshop in Budapest, highlighting examples such as RESCOOP.eu
Territorial Analysis and RESTOR-Hydro Data: the territorial analysis discussion was integrated into the benchmarking session, as it aligns with efforts to harmonize data collection. Partners were encouraged to review the RESTOR-Hydro database and prepare for semester 3’s territorial analysis focus on the 3rd project semester.
The meeting concluded with a focus on next steps, especially was dedicated to our upcoming project Interregional learning event in Lithuania, set to take place in March!
A big thank you to all partners for their valuable contributions. Looking forward to the next steps and to meet in Lithuania!
