Twenty-six project partners and stakeholder representatives participated in the webinar
Tartu 2024 Extended project
Tartu and Southern Estonia are the European Capital of Culture in 2024. Keen to involve plenty of young creators and organizers in the Tartu 2024 program, we created the Tartu 2024 Extended initiative. Tartu 2024 Extended will focus on engaging young people (14- to 19- 19-year-olds) through culture and art and will incorporate digital elements. So far, as of spring 2024, almost 100 young people have participated in this developmental process, creating events for over 10000 people. A particular focus will be on strengthening transversal cooperation between the fields of culture and youth work, enabling us to talk about difficult topics in creative ways.
An intriguing question was discussed: Is it possible to become a cultural manager in 8 months?
The webinar featured insights and experiences from the project manager Angela Ader, as well as presentations by two project alumni, Meelo Kriisa and Matvei Škut, who shared their experiences and personal development throughout the program.
Matvei Škut: “From Tartu 2024 I learned how to compete and work with different people, and also learned about projects that provide an opportunity to realize my goals”
Meelo Kriisa: “I learned so much about cultural organization and made so many friends, but the most important thing I learned was that a key to teamwork is figuring out what each person's best abilities are and putting them to use.”
