SKALE2CT Meeting in Budapest

The SKALE2CT partnership met in September 2023 in Budapest to go on with the International Education and Learning (E&L) activities, started in San Sebastian during Spring 2023. In the organization of Pannon Business Network a very impressive two-day workshop was realized with the active interaction of the consortium partners and stakeholders and with the cooperation of the departments of European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). It was a great experience that showcased how dynamic the entire partnership acted.

During Day 1 the participants could get familiar with the aims and activities of EIT Manufacturing, EIT health and EIT digital in frame of the international seminar with special focus on ‘Executive leadership’. During the workshop the start-up focus of the local program Szombathely2030 was presented and 3 good practices of the project consortium from Portugal, Latvia and France. The presented Hungarian and international programs focus on scaling-up SMEs.

The representative of the EIT Manufacturing Paris center and PBN - EIT Digital Innovation HUB introduced a technological good practice to the participants. Projects such as DIGIT Twin Green were also presented to show how they function in practice.

The representative of EIT Health, Mr. Ferenc Pongrácz, the head of the unit called InnoStars. InnoStars manages the coordination of peripheral countries. In his presentation he demonstrated what kind of services are provided in order to make businesses in the health industry more efficient at the European level. He also presented exciting details about the Test and Experiment facility: with the involvement of hospitals and private households entrepreneurial ideas can be tested under controlled conditions, e.g. a blood sugar meter or any other device. Several partners outlined that they are interested in this program, thus InnoStats offered the interested partners present to hold bilateral meetings. As a result, follow-up meetings on the topic were organized with several countries. The other top priority was the IPCEI program, which was discussed in detail with the participants.

After the workshop the partners took part on a study visit to the Industry 4.0 Technology Center of the Budapest Technical University and discussed in detail the management tasks of the SKALE2CT project.
