UnicornQuest | Regional group meeting in Western Ireland

During the event organized on the 20th June the overview of UnicornQuest project was provided by Mrs Helena Deane, linking the project activities to the Regional Enterprise Plan (REP) as policy instrument, focusing on the synthesis of innovation and entrepreneurship that produces the high-impact enterprises that are a critical engine for long-term job creation, and ultimately economic prosperity and social impact in the region.

REP objective builds on existing strengths in the region and aims to evolve and integrate the strengthening models for entrepreneurship, growth, scaling, internationalisation, and innovation further, while also strengthening linkages between academia, researchers, and the industry.

As per WREP, proposal included for undertaking a research study on alternative funding models to foster high growth enterprises, with focus on good practices, regionally, nationally and at EU and international level.

To ensure the effective implementation of the UnicornQuest project, a working group is proposed. This group will support the Interreg Project and deliver on local actions outlined in WREP, with WestBIC taking the lead. The working group will be composed of relevant stakeholders, ensuring efficiency and collaboration in achieving project objectives.

Moving forward, the project will focus on advancing research initiatives and establishing a stakeholder group with appropriate membership. The next meeting of the working group is scheduled for Semester 2, with further details to be agreed upon. Additionally, information regarding the next interregional learning event will be circulated to relevant stakeholders in due course.
