In the latest hybrid Wide Regional Enterprise Policy (WREP) Working Group meeting, the spotlight was on the UNICORN QUEST project, aiming to boost high-impact enterprises and economic growth. James Donlon from WestBIC provided updates, emphasizing the project's synergy with the Regional Enterprise Plan (REP) and its focus on innovation-driven entrepreneurship. 

A key proposal discussed was a research study on alternative funding models for high-growth enterprises, with a detailed methodology shared. Insights from a recent transnational seminar in Lille, France, highlighted best practices and learnings, while a report on European Unicorns and Soonicorns in 2022 offered valuable trends.

Next steps include commissioning external expertise for research and scheduling the next meeting for Semester 3, with plans to circulate details about the upcoming interregional learning event. The UNICORN QUEST project remains committed to fostering entrepreneurship and economic prosperity in the region through collaboration and innovation.
