The VIADUCT project is proud to highlight the remarkable achievements of Bobine, a spin-off start-up from Strasbourg, France, that exemplifies the success of Team-To-Market good practice in innovative technology development.

Innovative Recycling Technology

Founded in 2023, Bobine has developed a cutting-edge production process for the chemical recycling of plastics. This pioneering technology, which originated from the ICPEES laboratory—a research unit of the CNRS and the University of Strasbourg—offers a significant conversion gain of approximately 45% compared to other chemical recycling methods. This efficiency not only enhances the viability of plastic recycling but also presents a promising solution to one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.

Bobine's innovative recycling process has garnered attention from industry leaders. Recently, the start-up signed its first operating licence with the Michelin group, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards commercial success.

Support from Key Initiatives

The development of Bobine’s technology has been supported by VIADUCT project partner SATT Conectus Alsace, which provided crucial funding during the early stages when many investors were hesitant to take on the associated risks. Additionally, the CEO of Bobine was identified and supported by the Team-To-Market programme, which connects entrepreneurs with innovative technologies and has been recognised as a European Good Practice by the INTERREG Europe VIADUCT project.

This collaboration underscores the importance of fostering an ecosystem that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship, especially in the field of sustainable technologies.

Conclusion

Bobine stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and support in the realm of start-ups. As it moves forward with its ambitious goals, the company not only aims to lead in the recycling sector but also sets a precedent for future initiatives in sustainable practices.
