The Bucharest WEEEWaste project team hosted an informative seminar on November 5, 2024, at the
Park Inn by Radisson BLU Hotel in Bucharest, bringing together representatives from the electronic
waste recycling sector across Romania. The event aimed to showcase the project’s progress, highlight
best practices, and explore collaboration opportunities to raise awareness and implement sustainable
solutions.

The seminar began with participant registration, followed by the session “WEEEWaste – Project
Evolution,” which shared examples of best practices from Leipzig (Concept Store “Wiederschön”) and
Pamplona (Cash Converters, Boks_your_Art) along with initiatives from Traperos de Emaús. Alexandra
Ghenea, representing the ProDEEE Coalition, offered insights into the positive impact on sustainability of these practices.

Roxana Puia from Environ then presented successful campaigns designed to raise public awareness on e-waste recycling, emphasizing the importance of education and community involvement. Attendees
engaged in Q&A sessions throughout, exploring practical steps for adopting these best practices locally.

The seminar concluded with a networking session, encouraging local partners to discuss potential
collaborations in electronic waste management and circular economy initiatives.
