Errigal College STEM Lab Presented as Best Practice Example

Last Wednesday, October 23, the WeSTEMEU project’s working group visited Errigal College in Letterkenny to explore an innovative and highly effective STEM Lab, which was presented as a best practice for other institutions. The visit provided an opportunity for the group to learn about the lab's operation and its significant impact on STEM education.

During the visit, the director of the college welcomed the group and introduced the STEM Lab, providing context about its role within the broader educational framework of the college. Two students from the school took the lead in explaining the day-to-day activities within the lab, sharing firsthand experiences of how it supports their learning and engagement with various STEM disciplines.

In addition to the students' insights, the professor responsible for managing the lab presented an overview of the diverse activities conducted within the facility. He also highlighted other parallel projects that have emerged as a result of the lab's success, demonstrating the lab’s contribution to advancing STEM education at Errigal College. The visit underscored the lab's potential as an example of excellence in STEM education, offering a model for other institutions to emulate.
