WeSTEMEU partners explore two successful stories in Greece
As part of the Study Visit to Greece, the WeSTEMEU project partners had the opportunity to learn about two successful cases in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) featuring Greek women. These cases serve as examples of best practices and serve as role models for other professionals. These inspiring stories highlight the significant contributions Greek women are making in STEM and underscore the essential role of gender equality for a more equitable and progressive future in these fields.
Polina Tripotseri: Engineering Pioneer and Gender Equality Advocate
Polina Tripotseri, an engineer at Mavridou Engineers, shared her experience as a woman in the engineering world. Despite the challenges she faced throughout her career in Greece and England, Polina has managed to excel in a field traditionally dominated by men. She currently works at KMavridou, a consulting firm exclusively composed of female engineers. Polina emphasized the importance of this exclusive environment and how especially clients perceive it socially. Overcoming the lack of female role models, she has become a trailblazer for other young female engineers.
