WeSTEMEU Steering Group advances key plans in Letterkenny

Representatives from all institutions involved in the WeSTEMEU project gathered for a productive fifth Steering Group Meeting on October 24 in Letterkenny, hosted at the Atlantic Technological University. Organized and presented by the Igualada City Council, the meeting provided a platform for collaborative discussion and strategic planning, highlighting key elements of the project’s future. A significant focus of the meeting was the upcoming study visit to Poland. Representatives from the two Polish institutions participating in the project outlined technical and logistical details for the visit, which, following input from all partners, was scheduled for May 2025. This session underscored the importance of mutual understanding and planning among the partners.

A central topic of discussion was the Policy Instrument from each institution. During five-minute presentations, participants shared their respective instruments, facilitating an exchange of insights on commonalities and differences. This segment fostered a deeper understanding of the unique approaches each partner brings to the project. The Lead Partner introduced the newly developed system for the Database and Exchange of Good Practices, which will serve as a core component of the initiative. Designed to engage all partners and their respective stakeholders, this system aims to streamline the transfer of knowledge—a cornerstone of the WeSTEMEU project. Set to launch in March 2025, the system’s presentation will be finalized in the months leading up to its implementation.

Further discussions addressed the structure and execution of Regional Steering Group (RSG) meetings and Dissemination Events, with a focus on sharing strategies to boost stakeholder engagement. Partners exchanged ideas to enhance the reach and effectiveness of these activities, ensuring they align with the project’s overarching goals. Financial matters were also on the agenda, as partners reviewed reporting demands and provided feedback on the group’s organizational strategies. This dialogue emphasized the collaborative nature of the project, allowing partners to refine processes and address administrative challenges collectively.

The fifth Steering Group Meeting marked a pivotal moment in the WeSTEMEU project, reinforcing the commitment of all participants to fostering innovation, collaboration, and shared learning across borders.
