Madeira hosted another CEI BOOST Dissemination Event
On July 3rd, the second dissemination event of the CEI BOOST Interreg Europe Project was hosted by the Business Development Institute of Madeira Autonomous Region (IDE, IP-RAM) in ARDITI's meeting room. The event showcased the best regional good practices in Circular Economy and Innovation.
The event attracted 27 participants, including nine members of the IDE team, a representative from the Regional Development Institute, the Managing Authority of the Madeira 2030 Programme, and key stakeholders such as the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation, and the Regional Directorate for the Environment and Climate Change. Representatives from the University of Madeira, Startup Madeira, the public company Águas e Resíduos da Madeira (ARM), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madeira (ACIF-CCIM), and the Regional Agency for Energy and the Environment of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (AREAM) also attended. Additionally, there were seven representatives from innovative companies in the circular economy sector, including Hotel Galomar, Panaribloco, Madeira Waste Recycling, BioReboot, MADFibers, and Logimade.
Duarte Freitas, President of IDE, IP-RAM, delivered an insightful presentation on "Boosting Innovation in the Circular Economy through the Application of Emerging Technologies". Elizabeth Olival from AREAM discussed "Advantages for Competitiveness in Sustainability Performance". Thiago Gomes, Co-Founder & CEO of BioReboot, and Luís Franco, CEO of MADFibers, showcased business models centered on the circular economy. Nuno Rodrigues from Logimade introduced a project based on the concept of "Collaborative MICRO-HUBS for the Circular Economy".
The event emphasized the importance of leveraging emerging technologies to enhance the circular economy, fostering regional innovation and sustainability. It also served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and the promotion of partnerships among public entities, companies, start-ups, academia, and research centers.
