The 1st Regional Stakeholders Meeting of the CLEAR CITIES project took place in Gijón on November 19, 2024. The event focused on sharing good practices and presenting Gijón’s new Municipal Waste Plan, a key policy instrument for the project.
Partners in Gijón agreed to produce Situational Analyses for each region, assessing gaps, strengths, and best practices in carbon-less waste management. The analyses will include polices, SWOT, and best practices.
Study visits in Gijón inspired partners with EMULSA's itinerant reuse exchange point and ReusApp, showcasing effective citizen engagement, logistics, and educator roles. Partners praised its simplicity and replicability for promoting reuse.

Interreg is funding for four years with 1.8 million euros, in which 6 partners are participating and EMULSA is leading.
• EMULSA held a “ReusApp Pop Up” in the pedestrian area of Gijon, to promote reuse to reduce waste.
