CLIMATE Kick Off Meeting & 1st Interregional Policy Event

We are excited to announce that our Physical Kick-Off Meeting will take place in Lefkada from November 6th to 8th! We’re more than hyped for this opportunity to connect and collaborate! 

10 Partners from 9 countries will be gathered to the historical city of Lefkada in Ionian Islands Region to discuss the the results of CLIMATE Project.

Region of Ionian Islands as the Lead Partner will organise a site visit to the region’s , along with an interregional workshop on emergency response protocols, in order to improve CLIMATE territories’ prevention, preparedness, and response (planning) capacities to counter climate-related threats, with a particular focus on wildfires, floods, and coastal erosion. RII will deliver an input paper to guide CLIMATE partners in drawing up effective emergency response protocols, addressing the following aspects: a) risk assessment and hazard scenarios, b) emergency communication and public warning systems, c) pre-incident planning and coordination of emergency services, d) safety, containment and incident stabilisation strategies, e) post-disaster recovery measures (e.g., medical assistance, infrastructure rehabilitation), and f) monitoring of environmental conditions and ecological restoration.
