HSY - 1st stakeholder meeting in Finland
The first stakeholder meeting of the CLIMATE project brought together a diverse group of 19 attendees from various public sector organizations, including representatives from research institutes and environmental and rescue service departments in local municipalities.
The HSY stakeholder group comprises a broad array of public organizations and authorities dedicated to areas such as climate change adaptation, socioeconomic resilience, risk management, and emergency services.
This mix of expertise provided a strong foundation for a productive discussion following the project’s introduction to stakeholders. Key topics centered on the crucial role of international and regional cooperation in addressing climate challenges, as well as the benefits of sharing knowledge among different sectors to improve coordinated responses.
Participants emphasized the cross-border impacts of climate change and the need for a unified approach across regions. Additionally, perspectives on climate justice and equality were raised as essential considerations for future meetings, highlighting the project’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and equity in climate adaptation efforts. This first meeting set the stage for meaningful collaboration and laid the groundwork for achieving shared objectives in climate resilience and preparedness.
