Lombardy Foundation for the Environment introduces CLIMATE

Participation in the annual national conference of the Italian Society for Climate Sciences (SISC)

Foundation participated in the 12th edition of the SISC Annual Conference entitled MedCLIVAR-SISC 2024, which was held in Lecce from 24 to 27 September 2024, organized by the MedCLIVAR Network and SISC, in collaboration with CMCC, at the University of Salento. Participation in the Conference was aimed at contributing to strengthening the presence and interactions at the national level of the Lombardy Region on the issues of climate change. The Foundation presented an oral contribution to the Conference, entitled Role of subnational regional entities in the implementation of the national adaptation plan: the importance of capacity building and networking by sharing the project contents of the Italian Society among the members of the Italian Society Climate project, in particular relating to investigations into climate vulnerability and the contribution that the project path will offer to the definition of a policy instrument, a measure of the ERDF -PR of the Lombardy Region dedicated to adaptation to climate change.

FLA collaborates with the High School for the Environment of the Catholic University of Brescia to develop Masters, research doctorates and internships on sustainability issues, with particular reference to training and the start of professional paths for young graduates on environmental subjects. adaptation to climate change, circular economy, environmental education and euro planning. Also for these editions, the Foundation was called to hold the lesson on Economic policies for resources and the environment and climate change: FLA pilot projects in collaboration with the two Masters of the High School for the Environment: Master in Management and communication of sustainability. In the first months of 2024, in particular on 16 April 2024, the Foundation held a lesson at the Catholic University of Milan entitled: Economic policies for resources and the environment - Climate change: FLA pilot projects, mentioning project CLIMATE and its outputs in terms of policy instruments implementation as regard to the ERDF PR of Lombardy Region’s measure related to funding of climate change adaptation’s intervention in the energy and building sectors, to reduce extreme weather events attributed to climate change and better dealing with emergencies.
